Joseph "Joe" Andrew Martinez (born February 26, 1983) is an American former professional baseball pitcher.
==High school and college==
Born in South Orange, New Jersey, Martinez attended Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange.〔Stephenson, Colin. ("Seton Hall Prep grad Joe Martinez gets win in his return to the major leagues after injury" ), ''The Star-Ledger'', August 5, 2009. Accessed March 10, 2011.〕 He went to Boston College where he went 0–0 with a 0.00 ERA in seven games (26 innings) in 2002. In 2003, he went 1–0 with a 9.16 ERA in six games (18 innings). He went 2–4 with a 0.87 ERA in 15 games in 2004 (52 innings), striking out 56 batters. In 2005 with Boston College, he was used entirely as a starting pitcher, making 12 appearances and going 8–3 with a 2.63 ERA.
